Hi, I’m Kimberly, a fashion and disability lifestyle influencer. I’m in my mid-twenties, a self-proclaimed fashion & beauty lover who has Cerebral Palsy Spastic Diplegia. I fell in love with the fashion and beauty industries at a young age and have loved them ever since.
Growing up in my spare time I was always looking for new tips and tricks for putting together outfits or applying makeup, adapting what I found to work for my capabilities because there was limited if any information focused on these topics for women with disabilities. After an internship introduced me to the world of blogging, I added those as a source of information for my search, but didn’t have much luck finding a platform that discussed makeup, fashion and disability issues/ advocacy. I started researching on social media and found that I wasn’t alone in searching for fashion and makeup tips with accessibility in mind. The idea for The Sitting Beauty Diaries was born.
My goal with this fashion and disability lifestyle platform as well as my social media channels where I share content on fashion and every life living with Cerebral Palsy, is not only to inspire women with disabilities to scrap the limiting misconceptions of what other believe living with a disability is, but empower them to get creative with fashion and live a fun-filled life with their disability while dispelling stereotypes. I want to remind them that a disability doesn’t define you, it is only part of your story. I hope to create a brand that is a driving force for change in how people perceive those with disabilities.
