Jerusha

Jerusha loves writing poetry, music, and neuroscience.

Jerusha was born in Sri Lanka and because of her athetoid CP diagnosis, doctors told her parents she wouldn’t be able to walk or talk. She moved with her family to Melbourne, Australia, when she was two years old and proved those doctors wrong. She has successfully completed honors studies in biomedical sciences and is a candidate for PhD studies, determined to explore treatments for spastic cerebral palsy. She believes that her life experiences will give her greater empathy with her future patients and make them more comfortable in her presence.
