Diomayra

I love to work out, read, and write. I believe you can do anything if you accept and believe in yourself.

My name is Diomayra, or Dee!

I was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States during my pre-teen years. My speech and motor skills are affected by my cerebral palsy (CP). I have Spastic Cerebral Palsy which impact long-distance walking and the clarity of my speech. It was challenging growing up, believing that I had to pretend to be someone else in order to be accepted, especially when my abilities were looked down upon.

During my junior year of college, I moved into my university dorm to prove to myself that I am capable of accomplishing anything I set my mind to. There, I not only learned to advocate for myself but also to love and trust myself wholeheartedly.

After graduating from university, I began writing casually as a form of self-expression, which gradually turned into blogging about my experiences with dating while having disabilities and the importance of self-love. Through my blog (Shesdioma.com), I aim to spread positivity and emphasize the significance of self-love and self-acceptance. My goal is to empower others to embrace their authentic selves, regardless of societal expectations.

In addition to writing, I enjoy working out, traveling, and reading.
