Corrie

Corrie is a published author who writes poetry. She’s also involved in her school’s theatre program and she dabbles in songwriting.

Corrie wishes people knew that having CP isn’t an inherent tragedy. People with CP can be in loving relationships, build successful careers, and go to their dream college. People with CP can live a life that they are proud of despite having to navigate an ableist world that doesn’t aim to serve them.

She is establishing herself as an artist and making a name for herself. Corrie believes we need to destroy the narrative that disabled people are only allowed to exist for the ego boost of able-bodied people. We don’t exist to make other people feel good about themselves. We don’t exist to only be a sob-story. We are complex people with desires and dreams and goals.
