Callahan

Hi! I'm Callahan, but my big brother calls me Callie Mae! I've had a crazy life so far and was just diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic CP. We're not too sure what that means for my future but I know I'm here to help change the world!

Callahan was born at just 24 weeks, weighing in at 1lb 2oz. She spent 146 days in the NICU and none of them were boring! Callahan has been diagnosed with Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a form of chronic lung disease that affects newborns, Retinopathy of Prematurity and Periventricular leukomalacia (PVL). She required oxygen support for such a long time that her brain sustained a good bit of damage and the PVL is what led to her CP diagnosis. We are working hard to help her little brain rework itself and learn to do all the things! Callahan spends most days being a normal baby but with a lot more intentional playing. We’re hopeful that with lots of research and TLC Callahan can live a big fulfilling life!
